Anyone who owns a cat can attest to how easy it is for these furry little creatures to wrap us right around their little paws, and leave paw prints on our hearts. But, there are times when even the most ardent cat lovers want to just toss their pets right out the door, or put them up for adoption.
I’m talking about those wonderful times when we end up having to clean up a puddle of cat pee. Having cats urinating in your house can really be a big problem, and one that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible.
When you have cats urinating in the house, it is usually a sign that something is wrong. Instead of giving in to your frustration and getting rid of your cats, you should first see if you can take care of the problem, and get your cats to go back to using their litter box.
There are a few things that you can check before taking your cats to the vet to see if there is a medical problem that can be treated.
First of all, check to see if the litter box is clean enough.
Cats are extremely clean by nature, and sometimes even one little lump will make them angry enough to let you know by peeing on your carpeting, furniture, clothing, or something else that you don’t want it to pee on. Try cleaning the litter box several times a day, and this may put an end to the problem you are currently facing.
If the problem is not with the litter box, then you have to start looking into other reasons why you have a cats urinating in the house.
It may be that the cat is not happy about something. This can be something as simple as wanting to go outside more often, or not being happy with the amount of attention they are getting.
Some cats, like our kitten, who has one testicle inside, are at the spraying stage, but are too small to be operated on. When this happens, you just have to wait it out, and clean up the messes as best as you can.
