What is the cause? Is it the food you eat? No, bad breath is actually caused by bacteria and unfortunately, our mouth is moist, warm and there is food available that results in bacteria to multiply very quickly. Bacteria use food to form acid and volatile sulphur compounds that smell.

But worry not, for we have just the right remedies for you to try, so bad breath does not affect your confidence and takes away your smile. Also, don’t forget to brush every day!

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is considered one of the best options to get rid of bad breath. It contains and essential oil, cinnamic aldehyde, which does the trick.
What to do: Boil some cinnamon powder in a cup of water. Strain the solution and rinse your mouth with it daily, until you suffer from it. It will help to refresh the mouth.

Cloves have antibacterial properties, which can prove to be beneficial while treating bad breath.
What to do: The best method to use cloves is to chew a few pieces and then discard it. Another option is to have clove tea. Boil some cloves in a cup of water and have it once a day until you see results.

Ginger And Lemon Juice

The ginger-lemon juice helps remove the bacteria from the mouth, avoiding bad breath.
What to do: Mix two spoons of ginger and lemon juice in a glass of warm water and gargle with this water every day.

Fruits such as lemons, oranges, sweet limes and grapefruit can be eaten taken in order to avoid bad breath. Vitamin C can help to avoid the formation of bacteria in the mouth, and thus maintain oral health. What do to: Just eat the fruit every day like you would eat it on a normal basis.

Fennel has high antimicrobial properties, which fight with the bacteria that cause bad breath. It also acts as a mouth freshener.
What to do: You can chew on the fennel seeds after a meal. You can also have fennel tea – boil a spoon of fennel seeds/powder in a cup of water, strain it and have it regularly.

The saliva present in the mouth has antibacterial solution, which is very essential to avoid bad breath. Drinking sufficient amounts of water will wash out all debris in the mouth and help saliva formation.
